Motorcar Classics is pleased to offer this 1951 Ford Custom Deluxe Convertible presents a wonderful opportunity to own a quintessential \"Shoebox\" Ford with a well-documented history of care and mechanical upgrades. Refurbished by a previous owner and featured in the 2003 Dearborn Homecoming parade, this example is finished in a vibrant yellow complemented by an ivory and yellow two-tone interior and a black power-operated soft top. Recent extensive mechanical work totaling over $21,000 has significantly enhanced its drivability; in 2024, the 239ci flathead V8 was rebuilt using a replacement 8BA block, Offenhauser pistons, an Isky camshaft and lifters, and a Melling oil pump. The drivetrain is further supported by a recently resealed Ford-O-Matic three-speed automatic transmission and a replacement exhaust system.Beyond the engine bay, this convertible has been updated for modern reliability and safety, including a conversion to a 12-volt electrical system and the addition of power-assisted front disc brakes. The car rides on 15 black-painted steel wheels fitted with Coker Classic whitewall tires and features an overhauled power top mechanism.
